The Lettuce Situation

Is it possible for lettuce to be edible when frozen? Our freezer doesn’t tend to work, but the box at the bottom of the fridge has NO trouble freezing everything. I just thought, hm, that’s a nice crunchy lettuce before I realised I was eating lettucey ice crystals. Ironically, it was an iceburg. And I ate it anyway. Will I die?

    • You never know – there may be a type of bacteria in lettuce that ensures it is edible that only functions at room temperature… But it’s been a while and I’m still breathing so ah well.
